Gerret Project Process
This garden was designed in a Mediterranean style, combining native vegetation with mineral elements to create a harmonious, sustainable and low-maintenance landscape.
One of the main structural elements used in the design is a boulder rockery, which not only adds a rustic and natural character to the surroundings, but also plays a key role in ground stability and water drainage. The rocks, strategically placed, blend perfectly with Mediterranean plants, creating contrasts in texture and volume that enhance the garden's aesthetics.
For the planting scheme, drought-tolerant species adapted to the Mediterranean climate were used, such as lavender, rosemary, santolina, olive trees and cypresses, bringing colour, fragrance and movement to the overall composition. The arrangement of the plants among the rocks creates a natural effect, mimicking the spontaneous growth found in rocky landscapes.
In addition, the use of the rockery helps reduce erosion and improves moisture retention in the soil, optimising water consumption and minimising the maintenance required.
The result is a balanced, functional and visually appealing space that reflects the essence of the Mediterranean landscape with a sustainable and long-lasting approach.
